Every WasteAway price is built from parts you can see: a base price for the waste type, any size, distance and urgency charges, and a 5% service fee. We do not currently charge VAT. The app itemises all of it before you confirm, and the price you confirm is the price you pay.

The receipt above is for general waste at a medium load (3 to 5 bags) in Abuja, billed monthly, and the other two plans are built the same way from their own collection counts. A small load (1 to 2 bags) is the cheapest weekly plan there is, at ₦2,192.40 a month, and that is the floor. Other waste types and load sizes price differently, and the app shows your exact plan price and savings before you subscribe. You can change your plan, skip a visit or pause for up to 30 days, with any new price and proration shown before you confirm.

Added and itemised. We do not currently charge VAT. Subscription discounts are capped so a pickup’s base-plus-size price never falls below the minimum, and the per-visit travel fee applies to subscription visits, not to one-off pickups, which carry the distance charge instead.
These figures are the app’s current settings and can change as the service evolves. The app always shows your exact, itemised price before you confirm, and that confirmed price is what you pay.
Paying
How you pay, and what the wallet is for
Four ways to pay
Pay for each pickup as you book it, by card, bank transfer or USSD, or choose cash on collection. You can also pay from your in-app wallet, which you top up the same three ways.
The wallet pays for pickups
You never have to hold a balance: every pickup can be paid for at checkout by card, bank transfer or USSD. If you do keep one, it pays for pickups and plans. Everything credited spends the same way: refunds, the money from a skipped subscription visit and referral credit all go towards your next pickups. The app has no way to send a balance back to a card or bank account, so only load what you plan to spend. If you end up with a balance you would rather have back, support can return it by hand.
Wallet payments are held until you are served
A wallet payment is held until the pickup is done. If no collector takes the job, the money goes back in full to the wallet that paid.
Cancellations and refunds
What comes back to your wallet
One-off pickups: cancel free up to 2 hours before the scheduled time for a full refund to your wallet.
Later cancellations and no-shows carry a fee of up to 40% of the pickup price, and the app shows the exact amount before you confirm. The fee applies whether or not a collector has taken the job yet. It is waived when the failure is ours: your slot passes with nobody taking the job, or the collector who took it does not arrive.
On a subscription, skip a visit up to 12 hours before the slot and that visit’s money is returned to your wallet.
If no collector claims your pickup in time, it expires and the full amount goes back to your wallet automatically.
Something went wrong? Report it in the app within 3 days and a real person reviews it, with full or partial refunds to your wallet.

You are paid on the weight a collector verifies at pickup with a scale photo, never on a self-declared estimate.
Payouts are priced by WasteAway at the rates in force when your load is weighed and verified, and the collector pays you that amount in cash at pickup.
Our fee is charged to the collector, never deducted from what you receive.

Multi-unit plans earn group discounts
Discounts apply per unit as your unit count grows, with central or per-unit billing, and are shown in the app before you confirm a plan.

Estate plans also carry a visit fee for the collector’s trip out. It runs from ₦200 up to ₦1,000 a visit depending on distance. It is charged once per visit and shared across all the units served, so the more units on the visit, the less each one pays.
