How it works
Reliable waste service, on autopilot
One network connects homes, estates and businesses with trusted collectors: trackable, accountable and fair for everyone.
Set it and forget it
Pick a recurring plan or book a one-off pickup. Recurring pickups auto-generate on your schedule.
A verified collector is matched
Your job enters a shared dispatch pool and a vetted, ID-verified collector nearby claims it.
Done, with proof
The collector completes the pickup with a photo, or weighs your recyclables on-site for buy-back.
Settled automatically
Money is released from escrow when the pickup is done, and cash on collection works too. Sold recyclables are credited to your wallet on the verified weight.
For homes
Waste, handled. So you don’t have to be.
Whether you want it fully hands-off or just an occasional pickup, WasteAway fits how your household actually lives.
Subscribe once, relax
Set a weekly plan on the days you choose and pickups generate automatically: no reminders, no missed collections.
Or book on-demand
Extra bags this week? Book a one-off pickup in a tap and a collector comes to you.
Sell your recyclables
List cans, bottles, metal and more. A collector weighs them on-site and you’re paid on the verified weight.
One secure wallet
Top up once and pay every pickup from it. Buy-back payouts land in the same wallet and spend the same way, with every line and fee shown up front.

Recyclables buy-back
Let your recycling pay for your pickups
A buy-back people actually trust, because nobody gets paid on a self-declared number. Verified weight is what you’re paid on, and the payout goes into the wallet your collections come out of.
- 1
You list what you’ve got
Cans, bottles, metal, PET, paper: request a buy-back with a rough estimate. Money never moves on your word alone.
- 2
A collector weighs it on-site
Each material is weighed at pickup and captured with a scale photo, a genuine second-party check.
- 3
You’re paid on verified weight
The payout is computed from measured weights at graded per-kg rates, then credited to your wallet, where it pays for your next pickups.

Your payout is the weight verified at pickup, priced at the rates in force on the day it is weighed. WasteAway pays the collector’s commission; nothing is deducted from your payout. It is credited to your WasteAway wallet, which pays for pickups and plans.
For businesses & estates
Estate-grade waste management
Give a gated community, compound or office block one reliable waste operation, with the controls facility managers actually need.
Manage every unit in one place
Estates, compounds and offices onboard their units and residents, each on the right service plan.
Group plans with real discounts
Put units on shared plans and unlock multi-unit pricing: the more units, the better the rate.
Central or per-unit billing
Bill the whole estate from one account, with approvals that keep spend in check, or let each unit pay its own.
Facility-manager reports
Monthly reports show every collection, unit and cost: clear accountability for the whole community.

For collectors
Get paid properly for the rounds you already run
If you collect waste, WasteAway puts nearby jobs on your map and shows the pay before you claim, so nothing about a job is a surprise.
Claim jobs near you
See available pickups on a map, pick the ones that work for you, and navigate straight to the address.
Weigh recyclables on-site
Record verified weights with a scale photo. Fair for the seller, and it builds trust in the whole network.
Get verified, get trusted
Submit your ID, NIN and a guarantor once, and our team approves you before your first job. Verified collectors are what makes WasteAway safe to invite home.
Get paid to your bank
Earnings accrue as you complete jobs and pay out to your bank account: clear, itemised, on the record.

More in the app
Built for trust, end to end
From a logged-out price check to verified identities, photo-proof pickups and per-unit estate reports, the details that make waste pickup feel safe are already in your pocket.
- No account needed
See prices before you sign up
Browse tariffs, plans and coverage for your area without an account.

Escrow and dispute protection
Wallet payments sit in escrow until the pickup is done, and go back to your wallet in full if no collector claims the job in time.
Photo proof on every pickup
Collectors take a live, location-checked photo of what they collected.
Track your collector live
Follow the pickup on a map, with a step-by-step status and SMS updates.
Per-unit reporting for estates
A monthly report shows spend, collections and misses for every unit.

Change or skip a plan anytime
Adjust days, waste type or volume, skip a visit, or pause for up to 30 days, with the price shown up front.

ID-verified accounts
Add your NIN or BVN for a verified badge, reviewed by our team. Accounts are accountable, not anonymous.
PIN and biometric security
A transaction PIN guards large wallet payments and a collector’s payouts, and unlocks with Face ID or a fingerprint.
Problems, tracked to resolution
Report an issue on any pickup within 3 days and follow the review to its outcome.
Secure card payments
Cards are handled on our PCI-DSS processor’s secure page. Full card numbers never touch WasteAway.
Invite friends, both earn
Share your code and you both get wallet credit once your friend completes their first pickup.
On your phone
The whole service, in your pocket
Both apps are built. Android goes out first to the early-access list, with the iPhone app right behind it: one account, the same clean experience, in the light or the dark.

Light and dark on both, following the theme your phone is set to.
FAQ
Questions, answered
Availability, money and what happens when something goes wrong, in the order people ask.
Getting started
Where is WasteAway available?
Abuja is our first city and early access is open there now: join the list and we will bring you on as we open your area. WasteAway is built to expand across Nigeria’s fast-growing cities, so if you’d like it in your city or estate, get in touch.
How do I get the app?
Not from a store yet. Both apps are built and Android is released first, to the early-access list: join it with the part of Abuja you are in and we will send your install steps when we open your area.
Is there an iPhone app?
The iPhone app is built and is released after Android. The same account will work on both, and you can join the waitlist to be told the day it lands.
What’s the difference between a subscription and a one-off pickup?
A subscription puts your pickups on a recurring schedule so they happen automatically. A one-off is a single on-demand pickup you book whenever you need it. Many households run a subscription and book the occasional extra.
Prices and paying
How does pricing work?
Every price is itemised before you confirm: base price, any size, distance and urgency charges, and the service fee. We do not currently charge VAT. The price you see is the price you pay. See the full pricing guide for current figures.
Can I pay cash?
Yes. Choose cash on collection when you book, pay by card, bank transfer or USSD at checkout, or pay from your in-app wallet, topped up the same three ways. Wallet payments carry extra protection: the money is held in escrow until the pickup is completed, and goes back to your wallet automatically if no collector claims the job.
What can I spend my wallet balance on?
Money in your WasteAway wallet pays for pickups and plans. It stays in the app: there is no transfer back to a card or bank account, so top up what you plan to spend. Everything credited to the wallet spends the same way, whether it is a refund, a skipped subscription visit, referral credit or a buy-back payout. You never have to hold a balance either: paying at checkout for each pickup works just as well. The pricing guide has the detail.
How does the recyclables buy-back pay me?
You list your recyclables with a rough estimate, a collector weighs each material on-site with a scale photo, and you’re paid on that verified weight at the rates in force on the day it is weighed, credited straight to your wallet, where it pays for your pickups and plans. The collector’s commission is paid by WasteAway, never deducted from your payout.
Your pickups
Can I cancel a pickup?
Yes. Cancel a one-off pickup free up to 2 hours before the scheduled time for a full refund to your wallet. Inside those 2 hours a late fee of up to 40% of the service charge applies, and the app shows you the exact amount before you confirm. If the miss is ours, no collector claimed the job or the collector did not arrive, the fee is waived. If no collector claims your pickup in time, the full amount goes back to your wallet automatically. On a subscription, you can skip a visit up to 12 hours ahead, with that visit’s money returned to your wallet.
How will I know when my collector is on the way?
Track your collector live on a map in the app, with a step-by-step status from booking confirmed through to completed, plus a photo when the pickup is done. We also send the key updates by SMS, so you stay in the loop even with the app closed.
Estates, collectors and data
How do estates and businesses get set up?
Estate administrators and businesses onboard their units, put them on service plans with multi-unit discounts, choose central or per-unit billing, and get monthly facility-manager reports. See Businesses & estates or write to partners@wasteaway.ng.
How do I become a collector?
Apply in the app: submit a government ID, your NIN, a vehicle photo and a guarantor, and our team approves you before your first job. Once approved, claim nearby jobs on a map, complete them with photo proof or a weigh-in, and get paid to your bank. More on collecting with WasteAway.
Is my data safe?
Yes. We handle personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023, encrypt data in transit and at rest, and never sell it. See our Privacy Policy for the details.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, from Profile → Delete account, or by email if you no longer have the app. Spend your wallet balance down first, because an account still holding money cannot be deleted, and wallet money pays for pickups rather than paying out to a bank account. Full steps, every balance that can block a deletion, and what we keep for accounting, are on deleting your account.
